Ride The Cyclone - Musical Chicago Theatre reviews
Musiz has great songs but is not a great performer
I attended the show and was not impressed, having been to other shows with different artists, such as Baby Face, who delivered the best show ever in terms of his voice, performance, and the balance of instruments and drums. The mic for Ride The Cyclone - Musical was either too low or the music was excessively loud, drowning out the words. The musicians needed to lower the volume of their playing so that his voice could be heard clearly, instead of being overshadowed by the distorted music, particularly the bass guitar, which made it difficult to follow the notes. Criset Michell has a wonderful voice and did well, but she lacks stage presence. Singing only a portion of your song in front of a mic is a disservice to fans; we didn't come to listen to a medley. Musiz was overly active in all the songs he performed, which was off-putting. Many attendees began to leave as the show was not enjoyable due to the struggle of hearing his voice over the loud music. My date and I left early. Although he has great songs, I will purchase his music but will not attend another show or recommend it to others.
